” A personal project I undertake each year in January to capture one photo of my children each day.”

Day 26 ~ Today we drove to Perth to watch the Australia day fireworks. It was the first time the kids had seen the fireworks on the foreshore. I had planned on capturing them for my photo today, but as soon as they started the skies opened up and it poured with rain. It was still very exciting none the less, especially with the lightning storm happening at the same time, but I wasn’t too keen on getting my camera out in all that rain.

During the afternoon, there were lots of things going on with helicopters and planes flying over. I went outside and caught my two year old trying to take photos of it all on the phone he was given to play with, (as per day 25, he is obsessed with iPhones!).

Day 27 ~ My dear boy has so many amazing features I would love to capture if only he would let me. Today while getting ready for a big boat ride, I managed to capture this. One of those many amazing features xx

Day 28 ~ After spending the night and day in rotto, the boys were exhausted when we returned. After a soothing shower and in their comfortable pj’s they were snuggled up watching t.v and relaxing. Of course when I turn around with my camera, the eldest jumps up and hides, but I love that I captured this as the littlest one thought it was hilarious that he had jumped out of the bed so quick!

Day 29 ~ We spent the day at underwater world today. Another first for the younger two and another exciting day. Tristan was pretty happy with the souvenir his aunty got him:)

Day 30 ~ Another common sight in a household full of boys. Wrestling, tackling, play fighting, anything rough and tumble is their idea of fun.

(yes, it was taken in the same spot as the previous day:))

Day 31 ~ The end!! We made it (just!) It was our last day in Perth and the end of the holidays and this is all the kids would give me for the final photo. Fitting perhaps, saying goodbye as we picked up dad from the airport and headed home, ready for another year and more exciting adventures.

Thankyou to all that have watched and read and encouraged me with this journey and here’s to a wonderful year to come. xoxo

You know when this child is quiet he is up to no good and there are two places you will find him… on the computer or under the kitchen bench with someones phone or iPod. So today when I looked at the computer and found he wasn’t there, I grabbed my camera and went to the underside of the kitchen bench, and sure enough I found him, on my iPhone playing games. He has never been shown how to turn them on and find the games, but he has worked it out and it seems his favourite game is angry birds.

So we are nearing the end of January and the boys are “over it” in the photo taking department, (they were over it by day one really!) They refuse to co-operate and have me begging, “please, just one more, come on guys, it will only take a minute.” My punishment for all of this… that the rest of the year is pretty much out of bounds when it comes to taking photos of my kids, but that’s o.k because I at least have something they can look back on when they are older.

I had the most gorgeous family of 4 in the studio, who are waiting on the arrival of the 5th member. Such gorgeous children (and parents) and I can’t wait to meet the new little one when he/she arrives:)

I chose this image for todays one as it will be one image I won’t have next year. The last of his baby things (that and his dummy). He has cut right down on his bottles and it won’t be long before they are gone too.
